Göde Both held positions at Technical University of Braunschweig, Paderborn University, and Technical University of Berlin where he worked for Corinna Bath (Gender, Technology & Mobility), Jutta Weber (Media, Culture, Society), and Sabine Hark (Centre for Interdisciplinary Women’s and Gender Studies). As a guest researcher, Göde Both spent four months at the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication at Copenhagen University and ETHOS Lab (Technologies in Practice) at ITU Copenhagen. From 2014 until 2018 (2016 reelection) he served as a board member for the Gender Studies Association in Germany.

Göde Both holds a doctorate from University of Cologne in Social Science (thesis) and a University degree (Diplom, 5 years) from Humboldt-University Berlin in Computer Science (thesis). He presented papers at conferences of the Society of Social Studies of Science (4S) and the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST). During his PhD journey Göde Both enjoyed the guidance of his advisors Maja Horst (University of Copenhagen/DTU) and Diana Lengersdorf (Bielefeld University).
